If you’re PCSing this summer, here’s what actually matters
If you’re PCSing this summer, here’s what actually matters There’s a lot of talk about “big changes” to military moves—but for 2026, it’s more of a transition than a complete overhaul. I’m helping my clients focus on what impacts them right now (and what’s coming next).
Your move process is still familiar, however:
• The old contract is gone—but the system is stabilizing
• More financial support in 2026
After last year’s temporary increase, Personally Procured Moves are now reimbursed at standard rates again.
– Lodging: up to $110/night
– Meals & incidentals: $68/day (most CONUS locations)
Starting in fiscal year 2027 (October 2026), discretionary moves are expected to decrease.
What that means for my clients:
• Book your move early (carriers fill up fast)
• Take photos + keep a detailed inventory before pack-out
• File any damage claims in the Defense Personal Property System within 75 days
PCS moves are already stressful—my role is to help you stay ahead of the changes and make smart decisions from the move itself to where you land next.
If you’re headed to Albuquerque, I’m here to help every step of the way
